Does it really matter what people think of you?
Kids like to sound all "deep and dark," like when they're writing an essay or saying how "horrible" their life is. I don't think they understand that, they got it EASY. They're all rich and get whatever they want and they still complain!!! The only thing I have is a box under a desk holding my clothes and belonging. I don't even have a bed, I actually sleep on the couch. Guess what!? I am absolutely happy with what I have.
People are also lazy. They say they hate walking and all the really do is go on Facebook. I, on the other hand love walking and going outside. Most people just say that their lazy because they think their cool just because they said that.
I want people to be themselves and not care what other people think just based on what they like. I want them to be like when they where five and not care, I don't want them acting like their five.
Example: All the kids in Africa that have nothing, while all us get super pissed if we don't get the latest iPhone. I know what you mean, I think it's hard for people to realize how fortunate they are, until they are in a different situation.
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder. I agree it is important that we stop comparing our lives to others. It only makes us feel left out. I am the luckiest person I know. I have a great husband, amazing children, a wonderful mother who will help me with anything and I work with the best people on earth (and I am talking about my students as well as my coworkers.)
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad how nowadays it's all about possessions: fancy cars, cool clothes, the latest electronics. People are spending more time on phones and computers than ever, and we're forgetting that in order to be happy we need to forget about objects and start being grateful for each other.
ReplyDeleteAndria I totally, 100% agree with you. It's sad how some kids act these days.
ReplyDeleteI second this :)
ReplyDeleteI really love this. It's great to have people like this nowadays to remind others about how other people live. It's a shame that they are so oblivious to the outside world that they have to keep living the life that they're living. Very insightful.
